Emerging from Tucson's vibrant "underdog" music scene, Life Hoax is a post-hardcore three-piece pushing forward with urgency and intent. The band has quickly gained attention throughout the local and regional music community through its commitment to both an arresting live performance and a striking visual identity. Life Hoax brings together vocalist and songwriter Joshua Paynter (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), drummer Joshua Day (Cardiff, Wales), and bassist Nicholas Laguna (Tucson, Arizona).

Drawing on the punk and hardcore backgrounds of its members, Life Hoax blends raw intensity with melody and mood. Their sound evokes the force of Drug Church and Fugazi, the off-kilter edge of Quicksand and Queens of the Stone Age, and the melodic instincts of Blink-182. The result is a sharp, dynamic sound that feels equally familiar and confrontational.
